In 1800, Alessandro Volta created the first battery. He created a battery known as a voltaic pile, by making a stack of alternating layers of zinc, blotting paper that was soaked in salt water, and silver. Amazingly, by attaching a wire to the top and the bottom of the pile, a voltage and a current could be measured from the pile. In fact, the Daniel cell is also known as the crowfoot cell, the gravity cell and the wet cell.

In many devices that use batteries, such as portable radios and digital cameras, the batteries are normally grouped together serially to form higher voltages. Moreover, the voltages add up, when grouped in a serial arrangement; the currents add up, when grouped in a parallel arrangement. In the near future, laptop batteries will become smaller, much more powerful and a lot longer lasting to keep up with the technology of the electronics industry and its portable devices. Without a doubt, the creation of the battery is one the most remarkable inventions of the 20th century.

Step 2 On the other hand, with the increase in portable devices, such as laptops, smart phones, iPods and cordless telephones, the need for rechargeable batteries are in great demand in society today. The world’s first rechargeable laptop battery cell was created from the lead acid cell by Gaston Plante, a physicist, in the year 1859. Moreover, the rechargeable rate has continued to improve over the years as follows: Category 1 Slow: 14 to 16 hours, Category 2 Quick: 3 to 6 hours and Category 3 Fast: less than 1 hour.(Dell GD761 ,KD476)

Step 3 Conclusively, laptops run on electricity. It has a small inspiron E1505 battery to maintain the real-time clock and another component sometimes. Remarkably, since a laptop is portable, it can run on batteries alone. In addition, LiIon batteries are the current standard for laptops. These are light and they have long life spans; they can be charged at random and will not overheat if overcharged. So, LiIon batteries can last from about 950 up to 1200 charges. Many laptop computers with Li-Ion batteries claim to have a 5-hour GD761 battery life; this measurement can vary greatly and is dependent on how the laptop computer is used by the user. Many laptop computers have power management software to help extend the battery life or to conserve battery power when the battery becomes low. Even more so, when the battery life of the laptop has diminished, then its time to replace the battery. Turn the laptop computer’s power off completely; use a screw-driver to open the dell inspiron E1505 battery casing; remove the old battery and replace it with the new battery for the specified laptop computer model; put the battery casing back on; replace the screws and power the laptop back up. All done!
